valentine's dinner

this year we celebrated valentine's day one day early, since it was my day off. so i got to spend the day baking + cooking + thinking about the love of my life, which was a pretty great way to spend a day. i love how our valentine's days these days are simply spent at home with good food.

on the menu: pecan-crusted honey mustard chicken, blue cheese wedge salad, rosemary bread, a fancy local beverage, + double chocolate raspberry pavlova. needless to say, we stuffed ourselves with some pretty delicious food and went to bed happy. have you ever had pavlova? i did a middle-school report on australia once and made it for our potluck at the end... only thing was that i only did whipped cream & fruit, and totally left out the pav part (thanks google)! i had the real thing made by a couple of my classmates during a study abroad in australia. this chocolate version was divine. husband asked what we were going to do with the leftovers, and so i ate some more for breakfast.
